Safety of glazed cookware

Safety of glazed cookware - Grayscale Photography of Chain

Several years ago when the safety of Teflon cookware was called into question, my wife and I discontinued the use of all cookware that was coated in Teflon, as well as the cookware that contained the allegedly "safe" non stick chemical alternative. Since then we began mostly using either cast iron, glass cookware, stainless cookware or similar.

A couple of items in our kitchen I am unsure about though. My wife had bought a green pan that looks to be made of aluminum or steel but has a non stick surface that resembles a ceramic glaze. It looks similar to a dutch oven pot we have as well with a similar looking ceramic glaze coating.

Is this non stick surface in fact just another dangerous "forever" chemical coating? If not then what in fact actually comprises these ceramic glazed coatings and are they safe? We have had this skillet pan for a few years now and it is losing its shiny non stick luster so I cant help but wonder if this is leaching off into the foods we are cooking on it?

Edit Just to be clear, I do not want to enter into a debate about the safety of Teflon cookware in any form. This question is regarding the makeup of ceramic cookware and if there any polymer flourinated polymers used in the glaze.
