Xmas ham on the BBQ

We are hosting Xmas for the first time this year, and our oven is going to be full with turkey and vegetables, so I am hoping to do the ham (half a leg) on the BBQ (with lid down)

Is this a feasible plan, and does anyone have any suggestions on how should I do it?

(I hope this is not contravening any 'no recipes' rule, I'm really looking for some pointers on not destroying the ham and stressing out my already stressed wife further :) )

How do you cook a Christmas ham on the BBQ?

Spread brown sugar over the ham on top of the glaze rub it into all the nooks and crannies. Put the ham in a roasting dish on a rack on the BBQ, with 1 cup of water in the bottom of the baking dish. Bake for 1 1/2 hours, baste with the glaze approximately every 20 mins.

How long does it take to cook a ham on the BBQ?

Grill ham on the preheated grill until heated through, about 2 1/2 hours. Remove ham from grill and let rest 30 minutes before slicing.

How do you heat up a fully cooked ham on the grill?

Just because you roast your ham on the grill instead of in the oven, there is no need to alter any cooking times. A good rule of thumb is 12-15 minutes per pound when you stay between 225-250 degrees for a precooked ham. Track the temperature with your iGrill.

How do you BBQ a bone in ham?

Brush half of the glaze over the ham. Place the roasting dish with the ham in the centre of the barbecue, ensuring that only the outside burners are on. Cook at 180\xb0C with the lid on, for 45-60 minutes until the ham is golden brown. Brush with extra glaze frequently.
