Is there any difference between wholewheat pasta and wholewheat sphaghetti besides the shape? - Glass jars filled with assorted types of uncooked pasta and pistachios with almonds placed on wooden table near window in light room

I'm asking about the plain food as you would buy from the shop which has no extra ingredients. It seems to me they are both pure wheat just in different shapes. Is that correct or has one been processed more than the other in any way which may have caused nutrient loss?

Spaghetti is a type of pasta. "Pasta" is generally used as a generic term for Italian noodles; you can see more shapes of pasta here. If the ingredients are the same, the processing is likely the same––most dried pasta is just flour and water.

What is the difference between whole grain pasta and whole wheat pasta?

The main difference between the two is that whole wheat is reserved for products using the entire wheat kernel, while whole grain is an umbrella term for all types of grains in their whole form.

Is whole wheat pasta better for you than regular pasta?

Whole wheat pasta is healthier than white pasta, because it comes straight from whole grains (you'll likely see whole wheat flour as the main item on the ingredient list) and therefore is packed with nutrients such as complex carbs, protein, fiber, iron, magnesium, and zinc.

What is the healthiest type of pasta?

The healthiest types of pasta include whole wheat pasta, as well as bean and vegetable based noodles.

Does whole wheat pasta double in size?

When added to salted water, a regular white flour pasta plumps up to about twice the size of its dried form. Whole wheat and gluten-free versions, however, do not absorb as much water and remain a bit more true to size, so you can measure more closely to the desired cooked amount.
