Get chocolate eggs out of silicone mold

Get chocolate eggs out of silicone mold - Rabbit Chocolate

I bought some silicone easter egg molds, and I put 2 layers of chocolate in them. After they had set I tried to turn them out of the molds and they just cracked.

Is there any trick to turning the chocolate halves out of the molds without cracking the chocolate?

Thanks

Are you making sure that the chocolate is properly set? It's very important to ensure it's properly set or it will stick. Also, are you making the chocolate thick enough? It can be helpful to do two layers of chocolate in order that it isn't so thin it cracks easily.

How do you get chocolate eggs out of molds?

To remove your eggs from their moulds, squeeze the casing gently, working your way around the edge (the warmth from your hands will help). Brush the remaining melted chocolate around the rim of each of the chocolate egg halves, then gently press them together so they stick in place.

How do you remove chocolate shells from silicone molds?

Place chocolate in fridge for 20-30 min depending on the size of chocolate. Remove from the fridge and turn the mold upside down on a plate. If the silicone mold is quite large, start by gently removing the edges of the mold from the chocolate. Go around the entire edge and pull the mold away from the chocolate.

How do you remove thin chocolate from silicone molds?

Pry the Chocolate Out Carefully Some people have had success using thin tools such as butter knives to gently pry the chocolates out of the molds. You could try wedging some type of thin tool underneath the chocolate on both sides and then slowly lift the chocolate out.
